FIONA MORIARTY
Fiona Moriarty is a former Irish step dancing soccer player who found track in high school as way to stay in shape for soccer season. Then it turned out she was pretty decent at running and continued to do that while at Williams College, running the 400 and 800. After graduating she continued to run lots of miles with New Balance Boston until deciding to move out to California.
It was there that she bought a bike and started riding while coming back from yet another stress fracture. She was hooked.
She has focused on 70.3 races, placing in the top three in her AG for the past two years at races including Austin, Santa Rosa, Galveston, Peru and Coeur D’Alene. This year she placed first overall 70.3 Victoria and 3rd overall at CdA earning her pro card. She also has her eyes on racing for the Irish national team in the Sprint and Olympic distance after racing in 2018 at the ETU Middle Distance Championships in Ibiza, Spain.
Fiona works as a technical writer for Salesforce and loves to bake, cook, and read in her free time. She is coached by Elliot Bassett in Victoria, Canada and trains with the BATWomen.
